vue rn An an Sar ST GOVERNMENT OF INDIA na MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS oe ( RAILWAY BOARD ) No.E(W)37PS5~1/5 4 .05.97 The General Managets, All Indian Railways & Production Units Sub: Issue of passes to the Defence Counsels in DAR cases. Arising out of a reference from AIRF, the question regarding the class of passes to be issued to Retired Railway Servants acting as Defence Counsels has been examined. It has been decided that pass of the class to which the retired railway servant was entitled prior to retirement may be issued to a railway servant for perusal of documents for preparation of defence jn disciplinary case instituted against him as contained in item 27 of Schedule VII of Railway Servants Pass Rules, 1986 as well as to a retired railway servant for assistance to defend a railway servant involved in disciplinary proceedings as contained in Item 29 of Schedule VII of Railway Servants Pass Rutes, 1986. Necessary amendments to the Pass Rules will be issued in due course. ' 2 This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways. ( P.N.Kumaran ) Dy. Director Estt. To retired Railway serv- ant for assistance to defend a Railway servant involved in disciplinary proceedings, to attehd any meeting of a commission of enquiry or of a Board, Conference, Committee, or Entitlement Facilities _A pass of the class to which the retired Railway servant was entitled prior to retirement for self only, from home town/place of residence to the place where documents are kept whichever distance is shorter.
