The fundamental units express two primary ideas in their relationship to one another viz. Tonne-kms, Passenger kilometres, Train-kilometres, Wagon-kilometres, Engine hours, Wagon days etc. <!-- Slide number: 7 --> Derived Units Expresses relationship that exists between two sets of primary or fundamental units. The results thus arrived is termed ‘Derived Units’. The process by which this relationship ascertained is in following examples.
