q Doubts have been expressed about the manner in which the “ed hoc officiating pay of officers who are promoted.from JA.

: Grade7/ADRM to Level=II posts and from Level-II to Level=I on ' an ad_hoc basis, to look after the duties of the higher posts ~ ahead of their turn for officiating promotion on a regular basis, should be fixed in the context of admissibility of ad hoc ADA. in terms of instructions contained in Board's letter NosPCIII/62/DA/1 dated 26.3.62.

2. Officers promoted to these higher.posts on an ad_hee basis before they are due for regular promotion are allowed officiating pay which is restricted under Rule 2029 ({FR=35)-R.II. However, “since the posting orders which were being-issued from time to time in such cases had indicated the total officiating pay in terms of basic pay in the Lower post plus what was being — -©referred to as special pay, there have been occasions to ><-gquestion the admissibility of ed hoc ADA on the total officiating Pay after such ad hoc promotions.
