Ref .:-CRIS/Mumbai/UTS/15/WR/2021/74/Pt.XI dtd. 17.06.2021 With reference the above letter, CRIS has planned migration of UTS application environment of Western Railway from existing HP Servers to new Dell make UTS Servers installed at CSMT on the intervening night of

19.06.2021 and 20.06.2021. During this activity, the following functionalities will be affected.

i.

Ticketing on dumb terminal will not happen.

ii.

Thin client synchronisation will be disabled.

iii.

Thin clients will work in standalone mode.

iv.

Season tickets renewal and extension will not happen.

v.

Cancellation of tickets will happen with supervisory intervention on same thin client.

Further, it is requested to ensure that all the online thin clients are connected in network & synched before migration for smooth shifting of services of thin clients on new servers.

Sub: Migration of UTS application environment of Western Railway from existing HP servers to new UTS servers (Dell make)

With reference to above subject, it is intimated that that new UTS servers (DELL make) have been installed at CSMT datacentre and OS installation and the other configuration have also been completed. Testing of UTS application and other utilities in Western Railway environment on the new servers is also completed by UTS console.

Migration of UTS application environment of Westem Railway from existing HP servers to new servers is planned on the intervening night of 19.06.2021 (Sat) and 20.06.2021 (Sun). For this activity, downtime of 9 hours will be required from 21:00 hrs on 19.06.2021 to 05:00 hrs on

20.06.2021 to perform prerequisites.

During this activity, following functionalities will be affected,

i. Ticketing on dumb terminal will not happen ii. Thin client synchronisation will be disabled iii. Thin clients will work in standalonemode iv. Season ticket renewal and season ticket extension will not happen on thin clients

v. Cancellation of tickets will happen with supervisory intervention on same thin client.

Further, it is requested to ensure that all the thin clients are properly synched before the migration and are in network during the activity for smooth shifting of services of thin clients on new servers. Also, process of addition of new server IP on terminal servers should be completed well before the activity to facilitate dumb terminals login to new servers.
