Sub: Preparation of first reservation chart.

Ref: HQ’s letter no. C 436/29/Exhibition of Reservation Chart (27663) dated 05.01.2026.

With reference to the above, please find enclosed herewith a copy of HQ’s letter under reference in connection with the manual preparation of the first reservation charts shall be implemented for all trains with effect from JCO 11.01.2026. The schedule for manual charting for source and remote locations for the first chart is as under:

Further all charting locations are instructed to furnish feedback to this office regarding the implementation of new charting procedure, as per the schedule along with any observations or issues encountered so that the same can be appraised to the HQ.

Apropos above, it is informed that the manual preparation of the first reservation charts shall be implemented for all trains with effect from JCO 11.01.2026 in accordance with Railway Board’s instructions, as detailed in the letter cited under reference.

As per instructions, the schedule for manual charting for source and remote locations for the first chart is as follows:- Sr.No.

05:01 hrs – 18:00 hrs By 20:00 hrs of previous day

2.

18:01 hrs – 05:00 hrs (next day) At least 10 hrs in advance of scheduled departure There shall be no change in extant provisions regarding preparation of second reservation charts.

In this regard, Divisions are informed to observe the following guidelines:

a) Divisions are advised to identify the trains as per the timings indicated above and accordingly plan the schedule for chart preparation.

b) Divisions must ensure adequate staff deployment for timely manual preparation of chart.

c) EQ data feeding must be completed will in advance of the chart preparation process.
