Commercial Circular No. $4 of 2010, No.TCW/2910/10/DD Train, — “New Delhi,dt. jo-12.2010 The Chief Commercial Managers All Indian Railways Sub: Fare Structure for Double Decker trains
As per Hon’ble MR’s Budget announcement for 2010-11, a new train service called _. Double Decker Train with high capacity coaches is being ‘introduced. This train will have Double Decker AC Chair Car Class only
2. The fare of these trains will be levied at par with AC Chair Car Class of Superfast . Mail/Express trains at the existing fares. However, other charges like reservation fee, surcharge for superfast trains and development charges etc. shall be leviable additionally as admissible. .
3. The same fare structure shall be applicable round the year in Double Decker trains.
4. This fare structure is applicable in case of 128 seater high capacity AC chair car.
5. This fare structure will be valid for a period of one year. As such, date of commencement of service may be advised to Board as soon as one service is started.
6. Ali concessions in fares as admissible in Mail/Express trains will also be admissible in Double Decker train.
7. All Warrants and rail travel coupons shall be accepted for travel by these Double Decker trains.
8. Children of 5 years and above but below 12 years will continue to be charged half fare.
9. This issues with the concurrence of theFinance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways. .
