Sub: Rationalization of Freight rate for transportation of Salt Ref: Rates Circular No. 5/2026 & Corrigendum No. 63 of Rates Master Circular/CRT-CCR-Hub & Spoke/2015/0

1.1 In terms of Board’s letter of even number dated 25.03.2026, rationalized freight rate for transportation of Salt in wagons as well as containers were issued.

2.0 The issue regarding charging of Salt when transported in containers has been reviewed and it has been decided to revise the Haulage charges for salt traffic in containers. Accordingly, the sub-para (b) of Para 2.0 of the Board’s letter under reference have been revised as under:

(b) Haulage charges for Container trains with Salt traffic- loaded and empty movement

e Flat rate of [0.85 per GTKM upto 200 km

e GTKM based linearly tapered rate from ~0.85 per GTKM to 20.68 per GTKM from 200 km to 500 km.

e Flat rate of [0.68 per GTKM beyond 500 km.

e Minimum chargeable distance: 50 km

e No rebate/concession for empty haulage

Haulage Charges Formula:

Total Haulage Gross weight of rake (Designed tare weight of wagons + Gross

Charge* = weight of containers) x Distance (km) x Rate per GTKM

* Note: Gross weight of container means tare of container plus weight of the

commodity

3.0 All other terms and conditions as stipulated in the Circular under reference will remain unchanged.

40 These instructions will come into force w.e.f. 20.04.2026 and remain valid

upto 19.10.2026. + See कल की
