Chief Commercial Manager All Zonal Railways Sub: Loading of Wagons Ref: Para 1508 of Indian Railway Commercial Manual Vol.II An instance has come to the notice of Board about uneven loading in a wagon. New Delhi. dt.03.09.2024 As per Para 1508 of Indian Railway Commercial Manual Vol.II, "(a) Wagons must be evenly loaded so that load bears equally on all springs, No overloading beyond the marked, increased or restricted carrying capacity is to be allowed (b) f weighment facilities are not available at the station, whether the wagon is excessively or unevenly loaded should be checked by a visual inspection of springs and axle guards of the wagon. Load lines marked on wagons are also helpful in ensuring that loose commodities like coal, ballast, etc. are not overloaded " Copy to : Zonal Railways are advised to scrupulously follow the extant guidelines and in addition, conduct random checks of wagons at loading points to ensure even loading in the wagons.
