Sub:- Transportation of fruits and vegetables including Mango traffic and other mixed perishable goods traffic in Parcel rakes.

Ref:- Board’s Freight Marketing Circular No. 05 of 2017 dated

31.03.2017, No. 13 of 2017 dated 11.10.2017, No. 11 of 2018 dated 04.04.2018 and No. 08 of 2019 dated 05.03.2019.

Vide Freight Marketing Circular No. 05 of. 2017 dated

31.03.2017, powers had been delegated to Zonal Railways to finalise the composition of parcel rakes for transportation of fruits and vegetables including Mango traffic subject to the condition that the parcel rake composition in respect of such traffic shall not be lower than 15 parcel vans. Further, vide Freight Marketing Circular No. 13 of 2017 dated

11.10.2017, it was decided to allow transportation of mixed perishable goods traffic in Parcel rakes on the same terms and conditions as were applicable for transportation of fruits and vegetables.

2. The above instructions were initially applicable up to 31.03.2018 and further extended, last being up to 31.03.2020 vide Freight Marketing | Circular No. 08 of 2019 dated 05.03.2019.

3. The matter has been reviewed and the Ministry of Railways has now decided to extend the validity of the instructions till further advice.

4. Zonal Railways shall undertake review of the benefits of delegation of

powers in respect of the traffic mentioned above and shall send a report to this Office at the end of every year,

5. Necessary instructions may be issued to all concerned immediately.
