3Jffif <EHcfiF( GOVERNMENT OF INDIA tc>f A:ili~4 MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS (~~RAILWAY BOARD) No.TC-I/2024/101/efile/1 (3453504) New Delhi, dt.13.03.2024 General Manager All Zonal Railways Sub: Registration of indents, allotment and supply of wagons Ref: (i) Chapter-II of Goods Tariff Part-I (Vol-I) and its amendments (ii)Board's letter No.TC-I/2012/101/1 dt.31.01.2020 Reference has been received highlighting the issues regarding fake indents in case of maize traffic during February, 2023. Extant guidelines regarding registration of indents, allotment and supply of wagons are prescribed vide Chapter-II of Goods Tariff Part-I (Vol-I). Rule 201 of Chapter-II of Goods Tariff stipulates that " ... the Railway Administration, after due notice, can make such temporary local variations in any of these rules as they consider fit, to meet any exceptional circumstances or to prevent misuse ... " Vide Board's letter under reference (ii) above, Zonal Railways have been advised that they may notify detailed guidelines regarding acceptance of indents keeping in view the local conditions. These guidelines have been reiterated at several occasions.
