It is learnt that in many cases of refunds, Pay Orders are being forwarded to Divisions instead of Traffic Accounts office. Therefore, Zonal Railways are advised that Pay Order should be prepared correctly and forwarded to Traffic Accounts office.
This issues in consultation with Accounts directorate of Railway Board.

1. In ca of ollection through Online mode:
ln a. e pa ment of Dernurrage/Wharfage amount has been made through on line mod (Electronic Payment System/Online Payment yst m). the refund shall be made through FBD portal directly, into the account through which payment ha· been r ceivcd. ln case of refund through FBD portal, it needs to be en ured that the refund being done by the system automatically must be reported in tation balance heel maintained in FOIS/manually. Besides, all such case of refund hould be report d to Traffic Accounts office along with documents for post check.
RI ha informed that the functionality for refund through e-payrneru i under development in consultation with SBI. Till .uch time electronic refund through c- payment is made functional; the refund . hall be proce .scd through lReP . In that case. after approval of competent authority partial/full refund will be pro ·se<l through IRePS and [PAS. The digitally signed Pay Order hall be pr e .sed fc r refund through system integration between IRePS and lPAS. Th e refund should be reflected in the Traffic book. Such kind of refund shall be proce ed thr ugh Traffic Accounts office. This procedure will be followed till functionality for refund through e-payrnent is developed.
