(ii)Rates Circular No.09 of 2023 One of the Zonal Railways has sought guidelines in case when, on the · request of consignor/consignee, an already placed rake in a Goods Shed is re-placed from one line to the other in the same Goods Shed, which is treated as Re-positioning of wagons/rake:
In terms of Rates Circular No.14 of 2009, Shunting Charge is ·levied for utilization of Railway's locomotive for performing shunting operation at a siding .

The matter has been examined and it has been decided that in case wagons/rake (already placed in-position for loading/unloading) is re-positioned or placed from one line to the other in a goods shed on the request of customer (consignor/consignee), Shunting Charge will be levied as per the guidelines prescribed vide Rates Circular No.14 of 2009.
This issues in consultation with Traffic Transportation Dte. and with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of Ministry of Railways.
