Chief Commercial Manager Western Railway Sub: Clarification regarding Weighment Charge to be levied at GRPB-BRC division Ref: (i) Board’s letter No. TC-I/2017/109/3 dt.29.05.2018 (ii)Board’s letter No.TC-I/2017/109/3 dt.13.06.2018 Please refer to WR’s letter No.C.RFG/358/400/RlyBoard/2021 dt.05.10.2023 wherein Railway has sought clarification regarding refund of Weighment Charge, which was levied on weighment of Pet coke/met coke rake which was done at weighbridge owned, operated and installed by the siding owner at their own premises. As per Board’s letter dt.13.06.2018, Zonal Railway may permit weighment of Petroleum Coke and/or Metallurgical Coke at weighbridges owned, operated and installed at Party's premises on levy of Detention Charge @ Demurrage(for detention of rake) and Shunting Charge(for usage of railway loco, if any). The matter has been examined in consultation with Finance directorate of Railway Board and it is to advise that Board's instruction dated 13.06.2018 are applicable for all rakes weighed on private weighbridge after issue of the guidelines.
