Sub: Uniform working hours and business hours for railway goods sheds/sidings- Incentive for extended working hours and immediate removal of goods Ref: Rates Master Circular/Demurrage-Wharfage- Waiver/2016/0

One of the Zonal Railways have made a reference seeking elaboration regarding application of 50% incentive during night working hours when ‘free time for unloading of wagons under Demurrage rules’ and ‘free time for removal of consignment from railway premises under

Wharfage rules’ fall on the same night of detention and also when both fall on different nights of detention.

Extant guidelines regarding 50% incentive during night working hours are prescribed vide Para 4.0 of Rates Master Circular under reference. In order to elaborate, two illustrations on the above-mentioned situations are enclosed herewith for the guidance of Railways.
