Sub: Cashless transaction for payment of freight charges

Ref: (i) Commercial Circular No.69 of 2016

(ii) Rates Master Circular/E-Payment/2014/1 and its corrigendum/addendum (111) Board’s letter of even number 19.12.2016

Hon’ble Minister for Railways has desired to promote cashless transactions.

In case of goods traffic, Electronic payment system (E-payment) of freight is already in place.

All freight customers (other than e-payment) may be persuaded to make payment of Freight, Demurrage, Wharfage, WRF etc. through any of the following mode instead of cash-

e Demand Draft/Banker’s Cheque/Bank Pay order of Nationalized/Scheduled bank e Debit/Credit cards using Point of Sale(POS) machines

Railway Receipts/Money Receipts should capture all the requisite details of the afore- said mode while payments are made.

These instructions are issued in supersession of Board’s letter of even number
