Sub: Functioning of weighbridges and weighment of wagons/rakes

Ministry of Railways had constituted a Task Force for suggesting systems and processes to improve the safety performance of Indian Railways. One of the recommendation of the Task Force is that weighbridges should be kept in working order at all times and procedures to handle un-weighed or overweight rakes should be followed scrupulously.

Extant guidelines regarding functioning of weighbridges and procedure for weighment of wagons/rakes, dealing with overloaded wagons are contained in Rates Master Circular/Provision of Weighbridge/2014/0 and Rates Master Circular/Weighment/2014/0.

All concerned may be advised to follow the guidelines scrupulously.
