(i) SWR's letter No. C.450/CONCOR/VOl.VIl dt.03.10.2023 and 07.I 1.2023 Please refer to SWR's letter dt.03.10.2023 wherein Railway has proposed for mi-term revision of the classification of Devangonthi from Group-II to Group-II[. On requisition, SWR furnished the details of rakes dealt at Devangothi during June 2023 to October 2023 and also suggested that container rakes may not be taken into account while classification of goods shed.

It is seen that the average number of rakes at Devangonthi during June-October 2023 is

10.4 rakes per month whereas the criteria for Group-III is less than 7 rakes per month. SWR has sent the proposal for mid-term revision in the classification without examining the issue in the light of Board's guidelines.

Further, it is to state that extant guidelines for classification of CRT by taking into account all types of privately owned trains like container train, automobile train etc. as per Para

4.7 of Corigendum No.49 to Rates Master Circular/CRT-CCR-Hub&Spoke/2015/0 holds good and no change is envisaged at present.
