Sub: Incentive to enhance modal share in containerized traffic of Tiles

1. Inorder to enhance the modal share of Railways in containerized traffic of tiles, it has been
decided by the Competent Authority to allow 50% discount in haulage charges of empty
container laden rakes returning to originating cluster after transporting the Tiles traffic to
destination(s).

2. The incentive is launched on pilot basis to test the efficacy in attaining the desired results in
form of increase in the share of Railways in transportation of Tiles traffic.

3. a) For the aforesaid trial, the originating clusters of stations include the following which have
been identified by Western Railway:
i. Morbi (MVI)

ii. Sukhpur(SCLS)

iii, | Wadharba(NCLW)

iv. Maliya Miyana/(AOMM)

v.  Maliya Miyana(MALB)

vi.  Makansar ete.

b) Further, other Zonal Railways like WCR etc. can identify any other station/cluster of stations
having originating traffic of tiles for transportation by Rail mode in containerized form.

4, The trial will be valid for a period of three months from the date of issue of this circular.

5. Zonal Railway after the aforesaid period shall furnish the report on the efficacy of this
incentive.

6. This issues with the concurrence of Finance Dte. in the Ministry of Railways.
