Rates Circular No.2. 5 of 201 6 भारत सरकार (Government of India) रेल मंत्रालय (Ministry of Railways) रेलवे बोर्ड (Railway Board) No. TC-1/2006/109/6Pt.3 New Delhi, dt.2 .09.2016 General Manager All Zonal Railways Sub: Exemption from mandatory(100%) weighment in case of containerized Import traffic Ref: Rates Circular No.16 of 2013 & Rates Circular No. 10 of 2016 In terms of extant guidelines, the dispensation from mandatory(100%) weighment of containerized Import traffic is permitted only in the case of following three Container Train Operators (CTOs) upto 23.09.2016: (1) Container Corporation of India Ltd. (it) Gateway Rail Freight Ltd. (iii) Distribution Logistics Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. The matter has been reviewed and it has been decided to extend the validity of the above-mentioned instruction in the case of above-mentioned three CTOs beyond 23.09.2016 till further advice. However, in case SMTP details are not captured through EDI and goods clerk feeds them manually, rake should be weighed by the Railway. For all other Container Train Operators, the dispensation from weighment in case of containerized Import traffic is not allowed and Zonal Railways should ensure weighment of containerized Import traffic moved by them. This issues in consultation with Traffic Transportation Dte. and with the concurrence of Finance Dte. of the Ministry of Railways.
