Sub: Guidelines regarding provision, installation and functioning of weighbridges

Ref: Para 3.5 of Rates Master Circular/Provision of weighbridge/2014/0 and its Corrigenda

In terms of Para 3.5 of Rates Master Circular under reference, the validity of exemption from replacement of static weighbridges with electronic in-motion weighbridges(EIMWBs) in specific cases over SER, SECR and ECR 15 valid upto

31.10.2015.

The matter has been reviewed and it has been decided to extend the validity of above mentioned exemption upto 31.03.2017. Zonal Railways should ensure that the static weighbridge model is approved by Legal Metrology and regular calibration is done.

Accordingly, Para 3.5 of Rates Master Circular under reference may be modified.

This issues in consultation with Mechanical and Traffic Transportation Dtes. and

with the concurrence of Finance Dte of Ministry of Railways.
