Sub: Charging of Military Goods Traffic Ref: Board’s letter No. TC-I/2001/8/6 dated 14.03.2006 (Rates Circular No.21 of 2006)

Instances have come to the notice of Board that Stores (like edible oil etc.)

consigned to and by Regimental Messes and Executive Officers of Cantonments are being charged at Public Tariff rates.

The matter has been examined and it is clarified that Stores (like edible oil etc.) consigned to and by Regimental Messes and Executive Officers of Cantonments will be charged in terms of Para 6 of Rates Circular No.21 of 2006.

These instructions will be effective w.e.f.10.11.2009. However, already settled cases will not be reopened.

This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of Ministry of

Railways.
