Sub: Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to deal with fire accidents in 
        Railway Coaches/Trains – regarding.
           Ref: PCSO/SC Lr.No.Safety.157/DMPLAN//Vol. VII dated 09.10.2023

Fire in train may lead to a serious disaster, if not controlled timely and
effectively. A Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued by Railway Board is
circulated by PCSO/SC vide letter under reference. The role of Train Crew, Ticket
Checking staff & other on-board Staff including Pantry and Outsourced is
specifically mentioned in the SOP so as to effectively deal with fire accidents in
Railway Coaches/Trains. The copy of the said Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
is enclosed herewith.
 
Kindly arrange to educate Ticket checking staff on the instructions issued in
the SOP, especially on falling items mentioned in SOP.

Action Team (page no.s10-13) 
b. SL No.5: Role of Train Superintendent/TTEs & other commercial staff (page 
no.s15-16) 
c. Sl No. 5: Action to be taken in the event of Fire Caused by Petrol or any other
Inflammable goods (page no. 20) 
d. SL No.6: Training, Mock drill exercises and counseling of Railway Officials 
(page no.21)
