Change of Dress Code of TC/CC(merged cadre) on Indian Railways-reg There is strong demand from the staff of the unified cadre
GOVERNMENT OF INDIA (भारत सरकार) कर a MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS (al मंत्रालय) RAILWAY BOARD (रेलवे बोर्ड) dese No.2025/TG-V/10/2 New Delhi, dated 07.04.2025 The Principal Chief Commercial Managers, All Zonal Railways. Sub: Change of Dress Code of TC/CC(merged cadre) on Indian Railways-reg. NFIR has raised demands regarding the above subject in the agenda for next meeting of PNM/NFIR as under: “Railway Board vide RBE No. 28/2018 dated 22/02/2018 took decision for merger of the categories of TC/CC & ECRC and accordingly issued modified recruitment rules in the unified cadre w.e.f. 22/02/2018. Reports received from the field reveal that those inducted in the unified cadre have to perform their duties in booking/reservation/Ticket Checking according to the Administrative requirements. In terms of extant instructions those staff performing three distinct duties are required to wear three different types of uniforms during the course of performing specified duty. It has further been reported that the staff in general and female employees in particular have been facing difficulties in managing to wear different types of uniform while performing duties. There is strong demand from the staff of the unified cadre for change of uniform code for TC/CC (merged category). Federation is of the view that the demand of the staff is genuine and needs to be considered favourably, NFIR, therefore demands that either the Dress code may be changed for TC/CC (merged category) or the amount of Uniform Allowance be enhanced suitably to meet with the requirement of uniforms by the staff.” 2.
