No. 2024/TG-I/01/Superapp/02 New Delhi, Dated: .01.2025

The Principal Chief Commercial Managers,
All Zonal Railways.

Managing Director, CRIS
Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.

Sub: Removal of geo-fencing from station premises.

Instructions were issued vide this office letter of even number dated
01.07.2024 (copy enclosed) regarding permitting paperless tickets to be
issued from within the station premises from Tambram station of Southern
Railway as a pilot project for six months. The purpose of the pilot was to
study the impact of relaxation in geo-fencing guidelines w.r.t. increase in the
ticket booking from UTSONMOBILE.

2. The matter has been reviewed and it has been decided that the scope of
the pilot project needs to be expanded to other Zonal railways also.

3. In view of above, it is desired that Zonal Railways may please identify
at least one station where such pilot could be expanded. The criteria of
choosing the station(s) should be such that the station should have restricted
entry points where ticket checking staff could be deployed to ascertain that
the passengers entering the ticketed area are in possession of a valid ticket.
This would help in keeping a check on the tendency of unscrupulous
elements to enter platform without tickets.

4. It is also desired that the name of the shortlisted station(s) may be
furnished at the earliest so that the scope of the pilot project could be
expanded.
