Sub: Additional routes for movement of container trains under Hub &

Spoke policy.
Ref: i) RB’s letter No. 2011/TT-III/73/9 ४०.॥ dt. 16.05.2017.
ii) RB’s letter No. 2020/TT-II1/73/11 dt. 10.11.2023.

In continuation to Railway Board letters on the above subject, list of routes (pair of
Hub & Spokes) of CTO approved for movement under Hub & Spoke policy is attached as
Annexure ‘A’ and ‘B' for EXIM and Domestic traffic respectively.

2. As per RB’s Container Train Circular: 04/2023 for inter hub distance less than
750 km, CTO shall be charged Rs 1,00,000 (One Lakh) per rake loaded for all such
routes. These routes are permitted till 09.11.2024.

3. The Permission is subject to the following conditions:

i) Review based on performance and operational issues; and is permitted until further

advice.
ii). While placing of Indent / submission of forwarding note, the Operator should clearly

indicate if the container will be moved through the Hub and the Hub terminal(s) should
also be clearly indicated.

iii) When a container is booked through a permitted Hub, Operator should ensure that
under no circumstances the container should enter any other Hub en-route. Any violation
on this will be treated as violation of MCA and action will be taken as per the provisions.

iv) EXIM traffic will be permitted by Hub & Spoke movement in both the directions of the
routes enclosed at Annexure ‘A’. Domestic traffic movement is permitted in the notified
directions as per the list at Annexure ‘B’.

v) Permission for CRT as spoke will be subject to provisions of RC 59 of 2009 and
corrigendum issued thereof on extension of date.

vi) Permission for handling containers in Industrial Siding will be subject to the policy
governing handling of container trains in Private Industrial Sidings.

vii) These routes will come into force from 13" November, 2024.
viii) All other instructions issued on above subject will continue to hold good.
