Sub: Addendum to instructions regarding “Advance booking of Parcel space”.

Ref: Board’s letter of even no. dated 11.09.2020 and 21.09.2020.

ने के ने ने के Attention is invited to Board’s letters under reference, wherein advance booking of parcel space in SLRs & VPs to be attached to Passenger-carrying trains, and time-tabled Parcel Special Trains, was permitted 120 days in advance.

In this regard, various complaints have been received from leaseholders and Zonal Railways highlighting the financial losses being suffered by leaseholders owing to the provision of advance booking of parcel space in SLRs/VPs, at lower rates as compared to the leased freight.

The matter has been deliberated upon, and it has been decided that henceforth advance booking of parcel space in trains where parcel space (in SLRs or in Parcel Vans) has already been leased out, shall be permitted at freight equivalent to the highest lump-sum leased freight rate for that train. However, the advance booking already done prior to the issuance of this letter may be allowed to continue at freight at the rate on which advance booking has been done.
