Sub: Ensuring basic minimum infrastructure at Parcel-handling locations/ terminals.

It has been noticed that stations/terminals handling significant amount of Parcel traffic also lack the basic facilities for safety and security of consignments – which acts as a major disincentive for potential customers from accessing our Parcel services. To overcome this handicap, it is desired that availability of required infrastructure to ensure safety and security of Parcel consignments (before loading and after unloading) shall be ensured, which may include:

1. Shed (low-cost) to protect consignments from sun and rain,

2. Fencing to prevent unauthorized entry of anti-social elements and stray animals,

3. Adequate lighting, and

4. Facilities for labour (resting place with shed, drinking water arrangement, tap for bathing, etc).

Please ensure compliance, and action taken in this regard may be intimated to Board.

This has the approval of Competent Authority.
