Subject: Installation and commissioning of combined UTS-cum-

PRS terminals.

Please refer to the existing policy on UTS-cum-PRS as circulated vide Board’s letter no.2005/C&IS/UTS-cum-PRS/Policy dated 28-03-2007. Proposals for such locations are now being sent in large numbers by zonal railways. Therefore, a need has been felt to ease and speed up the process of sanctioning. Keeping this in view, Board has decided to delegate powers to sanction UTS-cum-PRS terminal/s to zonal railways.

2. The following guidelines may be adopted while considering combined UTS- cum-PRS terminals at justifiable locations:

(i) Atall stations, irrespective of class, having ‘manual reservation quota’ where UTS counter has been introduced or is sanctioned, the same may be converted to combined UTS-cum-PRS terminal.

(ii) Existing railhead PRS Centres may be converted to combined UTS-cum-PRS as per instructions in para (xi) of the extant PRS policy vide letter no.2008/C&IS/New PRS Policy/15 dated 04-10-2013.

(iii) The UTS-cum-PRS terminal should be manned by Commercial Clerk/ASM/ECRC, who can be trained in the Division for operating the combined terminal.

(iv) Combined UTS-cum-PRS terminal(s) may be introduced in the existing booking office with suitable modification in the window setting for better management of intending passengers and queues.

(v) Creation of UTS-cum-PRS facility should not normally cost any additional expenditure, except for provision of additional printers or printer switches ete.

(vi) Zonal Railways may decide to nominate one or more terminals as UTS-cum- PRS terminals, to have common or separate queues for the two streams for disbursal of respective tickets and need of timings being staggered to suit the convenience of both the streams depending upon local needs.

Zonal Railways may sanction conversion of UTS terminal to UTS-cum-! «S

terminals subject to the following:

a) Personal approval of GM along with concurrence of FA&CAO of the concerned zonal railway will be required.

b) All the locations will be sanctioned as per the terms and conditions laid out in this policy, as may be revised by Board from time to time.”

This supersedes Board’s _ letter no.2005/C&IS/UTS-cum-PRS/Policy

dated 28-03-2007.

This issues in consultation with Comml Dte and with the concurrence of Finance

कृपया बोर्ड के दिनांक 28-03-2007 के पत्र सं. 2005/सी एंडआइएस/यूटी एस-कम-पी आरएस/पॉलिसी का अवलोकन करें जिसके तहत यूटीएस-सह-पीआरएस की मौजूदा नीति निर्धारित की गई है. क्षेत्रीय रेलों से अब यूटीएस-सह-पीआरएस की स्वीकृति के लिए बड़ी संख्या में प्रस्ताव प्राप्त हो रहे हैं. अत: इस कार्य को सुगम बनाने और इसमें तीव्रता लाने की आवश्यकता महसूस की गई है. इस बात के मद्देनज़र बोर्ड ने यह विनिश्चय किया है कि यूटीएस-सह-पीआरएस की स्वीकृति के लिए शक्तियाँ क्षेत्रीय रेलों को प्रत्यायोजित की जाएं.

2. औचित्यपूर्ण पाए गए स्थानों पर संयुक्त यूटीएस-सह-पीआरएस टर्मिनल लगाए जाने के लिए निम्नलिखित दिशा-निर्देशों का पालन किया जाए:
