Ref: Rlys Board’s letter no. E(LL)/2016/HPC/7 dt. 13.10.16 Instruction regarding continuous night duty for running staff are issued vide para (vi) of board’s letter under reference, which stipulates that “Continuous night duty for running staff should be limited to 4 nights with fourth night towards headquarters”. However, it has been observed that railways are violating these instructions by continuing to _ book running staff after 4 consecutive nights due to absence of alert in CMS. In CMS reports for the month of Oct, Nov & Dec (till date) total 1360, 1224 & 696 cases of Loco Pilots with five & more than five continuous night duty were recorded respectively. Hence CRIS is advised to provide following alerts on crew booking console of on duty Crew Controller at: Outstation: If Running staff has completed three consecutive nights alert should be given “Three consecutive nights completed.” Headquarter: If running staff has completed four consecutive nights alert should be generated upon booking the staff: “Four consecutive nights completed.” CRIS is advised to provide the above alerts in CMS application.
