Sub:- Handling of Leased Parcel Cargo Express and Parcel express train from Parcel Terminal/Goods Shed.

In continuation of Board’s letter of even no. dated 11.10.2012 it has been decided to allow parcel handling from the Central Railside Warehouse (CRWC), Complexes treating them also as parcel terminals. A complete list of Railside Warehouse Complexes is enclosed herewith.

Handling of parcel traffic is also allowed at Private Freight Terminals (PFTs) as per Para 1.1 of the revised PFT Policy issued vide FM Circular dated 23.04.2012. Necessary action in the matter may kindly be taken accordingly.

For encouraging loading of parcels in train loads, Railways have furnished the name of Parcel terminals from where such traffic can be handled.

The list of such terminals is enclosed as Annexure ‘A’.

For running of Parcel Train whether leased ( as under the policy of Parcel Cargo Express Trains of 2007) or non-leased, these would be the originating/destination terminals as the case may be. No NOC is required from concerned Zonal Railway for handling of parcel trains at these stations.

As the parcel rakes are limited and are controlled by Coaching Directorate of Railway Board, prior permission is required from Board before floating tender in case of leased Parcel Cargo Express. In this regard attention is invited to letter No. 2011/RB/FMC/01/01/Mise dated 24.01.2011 which will

stand good.
