5) In large cities like Pune there is always a problem of dumping the garbage generated in the city.
Suggestions for increasing non- fare revenue for Indian Railways. 1) Creating Indian Railway branded merchandise. Such as toy trains, Station models, etc. This can be displayed and sold on platforms. 2) Ti-up with large IT companies in cities, like Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune for catering services in their canteens through IRCTC. Opening outlets of IRCTC in these IT companies for providing lunch/dinner/snacks services 3) Providing end to end ticketing facilities. E.g. from Pune to Hyderabad through train and then from Hyderabad to other places through Bus transporter (private or Government). With Tie-ups with private or Government bus operators a small convenience can be charged from customer or some fee sharing agreement with Bus Operators 4) In large cities if the railway station has space available, allowing private bus operators to park their buses for picking up passengers for a fee. This will add revenue for the concerned station and also help in reducing these buses being parked on roads near railway station there by causing traffic problems 5) In large cities like Pune there is always a problem of dumping the garbage generated in the city. Though municipal corporations have dumping ground, there is always resistance for creating these duping grounds. Can we evaluate a possibility of creating a dumping ground far away from the city and in some wasteland on the railway route and dumping the garbage from these cities on to that site through railway wagons? Railway can charge to municipal corporations for this service. Increasing revenue for railways and reducing garbage problems... 6) Allowing fast food chains for Pizzas Burgers to operate a separate pantry car in the railways through revenue sharing tie-ups. E.g. tie up with a popular pizza chain and then allowing them to operate a separate pantry car, they can create their pizzas in the pantry car and deliver these to the passengers as per the order during the train journey itself. 7) Allowing platforms to be used for a fee for promotions events for food/soft drink products 8) Tie-ups with private tour operators and allowing them to create booths on the stations in major tourist destinations for a fee. 9) Railway recently supplied water to Latur during draught like situations for free. Evaluation of possibilities of supplying water to areas with scarcity (where it is not economical to create a pipeline) but for a fee from local government
