GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS

Sub: Implementation of e-Office application over Indian Railways.

Ref: (i) MR’s Dash Board item regarding implementation of e-Office over entire IR.

(ii) Northern Railway’s letter No-320-Sig/FTS/HQ dated 08.03.2018.

With a view to implement e-Office over entire Indian Railways, as part of digital initiative and to go paperless in the office working which would ultimately improve transparency and efficiency in the system, Board (MT, FC & CRB) and DG(S&T) have approved the following:

1. To use e-Office application developed by NIC for e-Office project over Indian Railways.

2. First rolling out of the project on each Zonal Railways with one Division, 6 PUs,

RDSO and NAIR & 6 CTIs, and thereafter rolling out progressively on other divisions and seamlessly connecting the divisions with the Zonal Railways.

xe The e-Office application shall run on RailNet Network, as implemented and working at Railway Board.

4. Allotment of the project “Implementation of e-office for zonal railway (phase-I)” sanctioned at the cost of Rs 142.5 Crore in WP 15-16, to RailTel Corporation of India Ltd (RCIL) to implement the entire project.

3: RailTel to maintain the Application for five years after commissioning and ensure complete hand holddling along with support for hardware/software.

6. Hosting of application on RailTel’s data centre, as done while implementing the application at Railway Board.

i Technical support & execution at Zonal Railway/Divisions by S&T department.

8. Overall Implementation responsibility (Nodal branch) is of DGM(G)/General Branch at Zonal, PU, RDSO, NAIR & CTIs and ADRM/Admin at Divisional level. At Zonal level AGM will coordinate the initiative in each Zone and an officer of suitable Grade nominated by GMs/DGs in PUs/RDSO/NAIR and CTIs.

Board (CRB) desires that CMD/RailTel makes a presentation to Board within next fortnight to identify/firm up the areas of implementation and plan of action for its expeditious completion.
