विषय: Drive no 14 : 15 days Safety drive to check drunkenness on duty of Railways

officials.

A Safety Drive for 15 days starting from 27/01/2025 should be launched with special
emphasis to be given to the following aspects:

Random ambush checks must be conducted by
Officers/Inspectors/Supervisors with portable breathalyzer at stations en-
route to check whether Staff are not under the influence of alcohol.

All tnspectors/Supervisors should be advised to take feedback from different
sources and maintain a list of Staff working under them who are habitual of
drinking occasionally/regularly.

Officers/Inspectors/Supervisors irrespective of group.

A special watch should be kept on these alcoholic Staff.

All the staff should be counseled that it is their moral duty to report in case
any Staff is found under the influence of alcohol.

Staff identified as alcoholic should be counseled on short term/long term ill
effects of alcohol during trainings.

All Inspectors/Supervisors must be provided with portable breathalyzers for
conducting surprise checks and they should carry the same when they go on
inspection on line.

Families of Staff should also be counseled on the ill effects of the alcohol,
Alcoholic staff should be sent for de-addiction camps.

De-addiction camps may be organized by Divisions within their resources or
alternatively NGOs should be identified for the purpose. These camps should
be organized at regular intervals and this should be a continuous process.
