Guidelines for procurement of desktop PCs decided that procurement of Desktop PCs are to be made in Indian Railways as per specifications issued by MeitY
A-15013(12)/11/2020-RBCC GOVERNMENT OF INDIA 3103408 /2024 MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS (RAILWAY BOARD) No. A-15013(12)/11/2020-RBCC dated 22.08.2024 The General Managers All Indian Railways/Production Units (As per standard list) Sub: Guidelines for procurement of desktop PCs Ref: MeitY Office Memorandum No.- 8(1)/2023-Cybersecurity dated 04.06.2024. whee Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has framed minimum specifications of Desktop PCs for procurement to be made by Ministries/Departments and their agencies/PSUs. Accordingly, it has now been decided that procurement of Desktop PCs are to be made in Indian Railways as per specifications issued by MeitY Specification and entitlement of Desktop PCs for Officers/staff are as under: Level oi Specification [Entitlement of officers/staff Desktop PCs Level 1 Intel Core 17 / AMD R7 with x86 Processor, 21.5” Monitor, 16GB) Officers SAG and above RAM, | TB SSD, Windows Professional Edition or Linux versions with OEM support /Linux, TPM chip required for Bit Locker Disk encryption Level 2 Intel Core i5 / AMD RS with x86 Processor, 21.5” Monitor, 16GB] Group ‘A’ officers upto SG, IRAM, 500GB SSD, Windows Professional Edition or Linux] Group ‘B’ officers versions with OEM support /Linux, TPM chip required for Bit) Non-Gazetted staff Locker Disk encryption 2. In case of any specific requirement that require high compute or memory intensive infrastructure, Railways may procure high specifications desktop PCs subject to condition that overall financial limit prescribed in MSOP-2018 for the purchase of PCs is not breached and the following conditions are followed: (i) Higher specifications of PC should only be permitted with the prior concurrence of associate finance, and (ii) The approval should be taken from GMs in concerned Zonal Railways/PUs 4. This order supersede the earlier guidelines issued by this office letter dated 04.01.2022 and 14.09.2023 4.
