. Sub + Intensifying actions on cleanliness & upkeep of. Railway stations
through Multi Disciplinary Service Improvement Groups (SIGs)

Several circulars have been issued for monitoring the station cleaning &
upkeep of Ai, A & B category stations through Multi Disciplinary Service
Improvement Groups (SIGs) and takirig corrective actions. This was last
emphasized in CRB’s letter No. 2011/E&R/50/8 dated 28.07.2011.

It is found that inspections of SIG team and follow up actions as well as
review by officers are not effective in certain Divisions of IR. With the consistent .
emphasis:on cleanliness & upkeep of Railway stations, it is necessary that the
effectiveness in the functioning of SIG teams of station and divisional levels is

kept up by monitoring the same at the level of ADRM/DRM/AGM

In order to increase the effectiveness of actions by SIG teams, a list of
guidelines is enclosed These shall be enforced with suitable
modifications/improvements as found necessary.

Number of SIG inspections done for Ai, A & B category stations both at

station level as well as at Divisional officers level in each Division shall be
reported through your MCDOs as a separate annexure.
