Sub:- Transportation of fruits and vegetables including Mango traffic, etc. in Parcel rakes-composition of Rakes

Ref :- SCR’s letter No. C.285/Mktg/Mango/Vol.!V dated 17.01.2017.

In reference of above, Ministry of Railways have decided, as a special case, to delegate powers, to Chief Commercial Managers in consultation with Chief Operation Managers of the concerned Zonal Railways , to finalise the composition of parcel rakes for transportation of fruits and vegetables including Mango traffic. However, parcel rake composition in respect of such traffic shall not be lower than 15 parcel vans.

This shall be applicable only in case of attracting the additional fruit and vegetable traffic towards Railway or to check shifting of such traffic to alternative mode of transport.

These instructions shall be effective from 01.04.2017 to 31.03.2018.

This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways

Necessary instructions may be issued to all concerned immediately.
