Sub:- Clarification on GST for transportation of eggs.

Ref:- SWR’s letter No. C.441/Parcel/Suguna foods dated 27.12.2018.

The matter of levy of GST for transportation of eggs by Rail has been examined. in-consultation with Accounts Dte. of this Ministry. It is clarified that fresh eggs” in shell on which no further processing is done are covered under the definition of “Agriculture Produce” and, therefore, exemption at S. No. 20 of the Notification No. 12/2017-Central Tax (Rate) dated 28.06.2017 shall be available in case of transportation of eggs by Rail

3. Necessary instructions may be issued to all concerned immediately.
