Sub: Compliance of instructions regarding submission of e-way bill.

Ref: (i) Board’s FM Circular No, 10/2018, dtd. 21.03.2018, and its corrigendum dtd. 20.04.2018.

Attention is invited to Board’s FM Circular No. 10/2018 dtd. 21.03.2018 and its corrigendum dtd. 20.04, 2015, wherein instructions regarding submission of e-way bill in case of Parcel traffic was circulated, which are reiterated as under:

The responsibility of generation of e-way bill in respect of any consignment booked through parcel lies solely with consignor/consignee even if they are unregistered, Any consignor booking goods through parcel shall give an undertaking (in the prescribed format) that e-way bill will be generated and produced by consignor/consignee before taking delivery of the consignment failing which the consignment will not be delivered to him.

2. Delivery of consignment/parcel shall not be granted to the consignee without production of e-way bill. In the case where the consignee does not produce an e- way bill on account of value of the consignment being less than Rs 50,000/- he shall give an undertaking (in the prescribed format).

In this regard, it was further clarified vide Board’s letter under ref.(ii) that these instructions shall be applicable for both leased as well non-leased parcel traffic.

Accordingly, Zonal Railways are once again requested to adhere to these instructions and to ensure that the same are being complied for both leased as "t ? )
