Where ? At Rly Stns. & in trains/onboard
Indian Railways is basically a transport organization.
Various welfare steps are taken for welfare of women passenger and women employees.
At Rly. Stations:
separate PRS/UTS ticket counters,
waiting halls, Baby care centers,
Sanitary Napkin vending machines.
Special medical check up camp for women employees.

INSIDE OF TRAINS/ON BOARD:
Separate Reservation quota is earmarked for ladies pass (LD Quota).
Separate LB quota aged 45 y. & above and for Pregnant woman by all trains.
Free Season Tickets to girl students up to Degree & vocational/professional courses.
75% concession for rural girl for attending National level exam CET
Mathrubhoomi ladies special Sub Urban trains are running.
Sr. Citizens Concession of 50% for women's aged 58 and above for all classes by all trains including Rajdhani/Shatabdi/Janashatabdi Express trains

Sections of Railway Act of 1989
As per sec.58 of Rlys Act 1989 separate accommodation for ladies by all pass. Trains.
As per Sec. 162 of Rlys Act 1989 male pass’s unauthorized entry into ladies coach – Penalty Rs.500
As per Sec.139 of Rlys Act 1989 a lady pass without ticket not be detained during night time.
They can be detained at District HQ or Major Junction station.
Male TTE should not enter into ladies coach for ticket checking.
Tejaswini Squads of 2 ladies TTE’s and one lady RPF for ticket checking in ladies coaches.
Boys aged below 12 years permitted with mother/relatives in Ladies coaches.

6 Lower Berth quota in SLEEPER Class for long distance Mail/Exp trains.
