lt is stated that consolidated instructions/guidelines of Scheme on
Conrpassionate Appointment have been issued vlOi tnis Oepartment,r OM
No. 1401411/22'fstt {D) dated 02.08,2022,The objective of the Scheme is to
grant appointment on compassionate grounds to a clependent family rnember
of a Governnrent servant ciying in harness or who is retired on medical
grounds, thereby leaving his family in penury ancl without any means oi
llvelihoocl. so as to r"elieve the famiiy of the deceasecl Government servanl
concerned from finarrcial destitution and to help it get over the emerg**v,

As has been quoted by DoP in tlrelr referral Note, it has already been
clarified that married daughters can also be considered for appointment on
compassionate grounds provicled they were r,n,holly dependent on the
cleceased Govertrnrent servant, at lhe time of hisiher deailr, or wholly
clepencieill orr the Governnrent servanl at the time of retirement of the
Goverirntent servant on nreciical grounds, ancl [hat she must support other
depenclenI rnembers of the family of the deceased/medicaliy retired
Government servant.

Thus, it is for the adminiEtrative Ministry/Departrnent to verify the
above conditions in respec[ of 'marriecl ciaughters' who are seeLing
enrploynrent on corr:passionate grouncis, providect [trey are otherwise eliqibl6
for compassionate appointmenl in tern'rs of this Department,s oM dated
7'8.2a22. Therefore, based on the relative assessrnent of the applicants
including finarrcial condition of the 'dependent, tamily members of the
deceased Governntent servant or medicaily retired Government servant, by
tlre Cornnrittee constit-uted by each Department/Organisation for the purpose
of evaluaring clairtrs of compassionate appointmeni a decision may be taken
on offering appointrlent on cCIrnpassionate grounds to the most deserving
