Please refer to Board's letter No.2007/TC-1/302/1Pt.H dt.24.05.2013 (Corrigendum 5 to Rates Circular No.5 of 2011) which inter alia stipulates that chargeable weight of 20° TEU will be taken as 30tonnes and rate for 40°TEU will be double of the corresponding 20° TEU rate.

The chargeable weight for 20° container(TEU) and 40° container(FEU) for commodities,where Haulage Charges are levied at Container Class Rate, has been notified vide Rates Circular No.4 2. 2. of 2014. as under:

Accordingly, in partial modification to Board's letter No.2007/TC-I/302/1Pt.H dt.24.05.2013 (Corrigendum 5 to Rates Circular No.5 of 2011), it is advised that Container Class Rate for 20° container(TEU) and 40° container(FEU) will be levied on the basis of chargeable weight notified by Railway Board from time to time.

These instructions will be effective from 05+ Of ROI .

This issues in consultation with Traffic Transportation Directorate, and with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways. \ LL
