spread and Development of Hindi. Annual Programme is the resultant of this

Background of OL Resolution 1968 – Constitutional provisions
●
Article 343 (1) - Hindi in Devanagari script shall be the Official Language of the 
Union w.e.f 26.01.1950
●
Article 343 (2)  - English shall also be continued to be used in official work of the 
Union for a period of 15 years from the date of commencement of the 
Constitution i.e., from 26.01.1950 to 25.01.1965
●
Article 343 (3) - Continuation of English even after 25.01.1965 by empowering the 
Parliament to make laws to that effect 
●
Accordingly Official Language Act 1963 was passed to continue English
