GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF RATLWAYS (RAILWAY BOARD) NO.2001/TGL/1/5 | New Delhi, dt.28.10.2002 To The Chief Commercial Managers Passenger Marketing All Zonal Railways (Commercial Circular No.98/2002) Sub: Data Warehousing Project. Data Warehousing project is under implementation by CRIS. A separate server is being installed either in Northern Railway or in CRIS premises where the entire data for 5 years of all the PRS of Indian Railways will be stored in the Data Warehousing package. This package will give lot of facility of analysis of passenger traffic such as waiting list analysis, occupation of the trains and various other statistics. This will require down loading of the historical data from the tapes and for this purpose Manager Data Base of all CCM/PMs office will be basically responsible and he can take assistance of project team of CRIS in organizing this data. This is of immense value to commercial department for improving the passenger revemie, hence it must be given highest priority. An effort-should be made to get a good data base developed. In future, the updation of this data and its management will remain the responsibility of CCM/PM and under him it will be looked after by MDB (Dy.CCM/DB).
