All Zonal Railways.
Sub: Amendment in Tatkal Scheme.
(Commercial Circular No. 83 of 2007)
At present Tatkal scheme is available in Sleeper, Air Conditioned
Chair Car, AC-3 tier & AC-2 tier classes. It has been decided to extend
Tatkal scheme in 2S class also. The extent of accommodation to be
earmarked and the Tatkal charges to be realised will be as under:-

10% of the accommodation
Tatkal charges

Rs.15/- per passenger both during
peak as well as non-peak periods.
Necessary modification will be made by CRIS under intimation to
Zonal Railways and this office. Zonal Railways may take necessary action
to earmark Tatkal accommodation in 2S class w.e.f. 31-10-2007. A watch
may be kept on the additional earnings on account of earmarking of this
accommodation and feedback sent to this office.
This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of
Ministry of Railways.
