(COMMERCIAL CIRCULAR NO. 80 OF 2012) Sub: Enhancement of period for purchasing unreserved reverse tickets during Mahakumbh Mela. Maha Kumbh Mela is going to be held at Allahabad from 14" January, 2013 to 10" March, 2013. Large number of passengers are expected to be handled by Mela station of Northern, North Central & North Eastern Railways during this period. 2. In view of the large number of persons visiting Allahabad during this period, in addition to provision of additional unreserved booking counters, it is necessary to offload the booking counters and facilitate passengers to book tickets in advance. 3. Accordingly the matter has been examined and it has been decided as a special case to facilitate the Passengers that for this Mela period only, following modifications will be made in the advance booking period of unreserved tickets subject to levy of Mela surcharge as per extant instructions:- (i) If any passenger purchases an unreserved reverse ticket through UTS from any station on Indian Railways for journey to any one of the 12-stations in Allahabad region serving the Mahakumbh Mela i.e. Allahabad Junction, Allahabad City, Naini, Subedarganj, Rambag, Prayag, Prayag Ghat, Daraganj, Phaphamau, Jhusi, Vindhyachal, Chheoki and back, the reverse ticket will be allowed to be booked up to 15 days in advance excluding the day of journey. For e.g., if a passenger at Nagpur wants to purchase ticket to any station in Allahabad Mela area and back, he can purchase the same 15 days in advance, It shall, however, not be possible to give refund on such reverse tickets. Dell/M/DyMy Documents/UTS Aotier 2011 (ii) The date of journey will be indicated on the ticket (iii) This facility will be available for tickets purchased on or after 10" January 2013 upto 12" March 2013 3.1 - Zonal'Railways should also define in UTS, the probable routes, from where traffic is expected towards stations in Mahakumbh Mela area. i ee 3.2 CRIS will make necessary modifications accordingly, under intimation to all zonal Railways as well as this office 3.3 Wide publicity through all possible means viz. Print Media, Railway Website, Public. Announcement System, etc: may be given for dissemination of information about: provision of this facility amongst general public to avoid congestion at the stations serving Mela area and also to avoid inconvenience to general public. \o7 (Dr. Monica Agnihotri).
