Sub: Sale of ‘Takeaway Bedroll Kit/Items’ and Masks/Sanitizer etc. through Multi Purpose Stalls.

Ref: Commercial Circular No. 61 of 2017 dated 05/09/2017 (MPS Policy 2017).

This is in reference to instructions issued vide Para 1.2 of Commercial Circular No. 61 of 2017 dated 05/09/2017 which mandates Multi Purpose Stalls to sell inter-alia miscellaneous items that satisfy the travelling needs of passengers.

Amongst the items which fulfil the needs of travelling public and in keeping with the emphasis for providing safe and hygienic travel facilities to passengers, it must be ensured that takeaway Bedroll Kits/Items, other COVID-19 related protective items such as masks, sanitizers, gloves, etc. are also made available for sale through Multi Purpose Stalls.

Zonal Railways are therefore advised to ensure availability of takeaway Bedroll Kit/Items’ for sale through MPS. Further, Zonal Railways may permit sale of COVID-19 related hygiene and protective items such as face mask, hand sanitizer & gloves through MPS. These ‘Takeaway Bedroll Kit/Items’ and other protective items should be of good quality and not exceed the MRP.

This issues with the approval of the Competent Authority.
