Sub: Engagement of Station Ticket Booking Agents (STBAs) Scheme
at ‘E’ Category Stations.

With a view to facilitate Station Managers/Assistant Station Managers to
concentrate better on train operations and also to facilitate passengers to get
tickets, a scheme to engage Station Ticket Booking Sewaks (STBS) at
‘B’-category stations as a pilot project for one year was circulated to al! zonal
Railways vide this office letter of even number dated 24.10.2013 (Commercial
Circular No. 66/2013). Certain provisions of this scheme were
modified/clarified vide various instructions issued thereafter. The tenure of
existing STBS who had completed one year was extended (vide Commercial
Circular No. 28/2015) for another six months or till the finalisation of Tender.

1.1 A new modified scheme of engaging Station Ticket Booking
Agents (STBAs) instead of STBS has been prepared in consultation with
Finance and Accounts Directorate of Ministry of Railways, a copy of which is
enclosed. It is desired that necessary action should be taken at the earliest to
call tenders for engagement of STBAs at E-category stations as per this
scheme. The tenure of existing STBS appointed as per earlier scheme may be
extended for another six months or till engagement of STBAs as per new
scheme, whichever is earlier.

2. This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of Ministry of
Railways.

Station Ticket Booking Agents (STBA) Scheme for गए" Category Stations Ticket Booking Agents (STBA Scheme for ‘E’ Category Stations

This scheme is for engaging Station Ticket Booking Agent (STBA) on
commission basis at ‘E’ category stations for issue of unreserved tickets through
Computerised Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) of Indian Railways.

1.1 STBA at ‘B’ category stations will be engaged to disburse unreserved tickets
as per timings decided by zonal Railways.

1.2 No booking clerk shall be posted at the locations where STBA has been
engaged.

2. Selection of Station Ticket Booking Agents (STBA):

(a) The need as well as the number of counters in a station for engaging
STBA shall be assessed by a JAG committee consisting of officers
from Commercial, Operating and Accounts Department of the
concerne
