Sub: Liberalizetion of Refund Rujes contained under rule 213
of IRCA Coaching Tariff No. 25, Part t (Vol. 1).
Based on the recommendations of the Committee on Subordinate
Legisiation, Rajya Sabha, Ministry of Railways have decided to fberalize certain
Clauses of Refund Rules, contained under Rule 213 of IRCA Coaching Tariff No.
25, Part | (Vol. J}, aa detailed below:
@) Rule 213.6/4)(a): The time limits for surrendering tickets for
levying flat cancellation charges under this rule shall be reviaed as "more than 24
hours before the scheduled departure of the train
() Rule 21310] The tme पाले sutrendering tickets for
levying 25% cancelation charges under thia nde shall revised as “within 24 hours
and upto 4 hours before scheduled departure of the
(MW) Rule 213.16 (para 2): Refund at destination station for tower
class fravel under this mule Wil be granted if the ticket, alongwith the
conductor/guard/TTE certificate lesued for jower class-travel, is presented within
two days of the date of issue of the certificate (excluding the date of isaue). For
exampe, if the certificate has been issued on 26.6.06, refund can be obtained at
passenger's destination station upto उ6ै. है, 06.
div) Rule 243,17 (3) f); Under this nie, the duplicate ticket (in feu of
Reserved/RAC } before preparation of
feservation chart shall be issued on collection of only the prescribed
refundable clerkage charge per passenger. There is no change in the rules for
isaue of duplicate tickets after ration of reservation charts
(v)- Rede 273.77/48): The existing provisions contained under this
rule for refunding the duplicate ticket charges at the destination station shall
stand withdrawn. (Sub-nule (if) may be re-numbered as “(1)">
2. ' The above instructions shall come into effect on 1.8.2008.
3. Necessary instructions may be issued to ail concemed Immediately and
implementation ensured. Wide publicity may also be given through various
media. The issue of Gazetie Notification in this regard is under process and will
be sent when jesued. This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of
Ministry of Railways.
