IRCTC have been advised vide letter no. 2002/TG-ILV631/2 Det, 09.03.06 that they can
finalise their own innovative aenu for Rajdhani/Shatabdi trains but if there is any need for
cheuge in tariff for catering services in these trains, the same can be proposed by IRCTC for
approval of Railway Board. .
Tn continuation of these instructions, the following further guidelines may also be
kept in mind for the review of menu and wiff for catering services on trains and static units:-
i Rajdkani‘Shatabdi Trains:-Tariff of catering services for these trains
should be reviewed every five years by IRCTC and sent to Railway Board
for approval.
(i) «=- Miai/Rxpres: ivains & static anite:- Tariff of standard meals, breakfast,
tea‘coffes, «*.. should be reviewed ewery five yeats and necesasTy
changes, if any, will be proposed by IRCTC for approval of the Board.
{iit} Avda carte at ‘A’, ‘B’ & ‘C’ entegery stations: Menoftariff of a-la-carte
items for ‘A’, ‘B’ & "C’ category stations & for mobile units will
henceforth be reviewed penodically by IRCTC, at such intervals as may
be decided by them.
(iv) A-la-carte at ‘D’, ‘E” & ‘F’ Category Stations: Till units ‘D’, E, and F
category siations arc managed by the railways the menu/Tariff of all items
including 1: la-catte jiems except Standard Menu for the minor units of
these stations will be fixed and reviewed by concerned railways every five
years.
fv) AVM/Water veading machines: Tariff for beverages / water dispensed
through AVMs/Water vending machines will be reviewed by Railway
Board every tive years.
For deciding Menu / Tariff the current recipe in the market, regional
culinary petterns aad mcdern trends, change in price indices from last revision, etc.
should be taken into consideration.
