Sub: Selection of mode! stations for upgradation of Passenger Amenities.
While presenting the Raitway Budget for 2006-07, the Hon'ble MR has Interatia
announced that all ‘A’ & ‘B’ category of stations should be declared as mode! stations.
Accotdingly, zonal ralways were advised to send the names of those stations which ave
failing under the category ‘A’ & ‘B’ and which have not been nominated as mode! stations so
far. As reported by the zonal raiways, a total of 250 ‘A’ and 8 category stations are yet to
be declared as model atations. Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) have now decided that
these 250 stations may be added to the existing 4s! of 327 model stations. A ist indicating
the hames of these 250 stations is enclosed. Necessary action may be taken for provision of
specified upgraded passenger amenities (Desirable Amenities) at these stations as per the
category of the station. The Ralhkways may send an assessment of the expenditure involved
il upgrading amenities at these stations.
This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of Minlstry of Railways.
